You can open your browser in private mode so that cookies are deleted at the end of each session. You can also choose to disable cookies entirely in your Internet browser, but this may reduce the quality of your user experience on all websites visited.

Third-party cookies

We may use third-party cookies on our site for the following purposes:

Google Analytics

The Drummond Historical Society uses Google Analytics, a web analytics tool, on this site.

Google Analytics uses "cookies" to collect information about your use of the website, which is stored on servers, mainly in the USA. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

The information collected by the tool includes, for example, the pages you visit, the date, time, duration and frequency of your visits, and the links you click on. The type and language of your computer's operating system, the name of your Internet service provider and your geographical location (region) are also part of the information collected. Your IP address is also collected, but anonymized (truncated) to ensure the confidentiality of your information. Anonymizing an IP address prevents the identity of an Internet user from being known through it.

Google will only use the information collected to produce statistics and reports on navigation on this site, which will enable the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity to improve its electronic service provision. Google will not link the information collected on this site to any other data held by Google.

If you wish, you can prevent Google from recording information about your browsing by installing the Google Analytics deactivation browser add-on on your computer.

Paypal payments

Our payment platform is hosted by PayPal. They provide us with the e-commerce platform that enables us to sell our services and products to you. Your data is stored in PayPal's data storage system and databases, and in PayPal's general application. This information is encrypted in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Your purchase transaction information is retained as long as necessary to complete your order. Once your order has been finalized, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways are PCI-DSS compliant, managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of companies such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements ensure the secure processing of credit card data by our store and its service providers.

Adjustments

This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to our data collection process. We recommend that our users check our policy from time to time to ensure that they are aware of any updates. If necessary, we may notify users by e-mail of changes to this policy.
